why

Why questions are difficult to answer. At times they seem ridiculous or impossible, like a riddle without an answer. However if you want a fighting chance of finding the answer, first you need to cast aside any worry that you won’t reach the solution. Worrying about not finding the answer doesn’t achieve anything, it just prevents you from finding the answer. It’s “as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.”

Only after you shift your focus away from the goal will you be able to reflect and focus, and have any hope of finding resolution.

Easier said than done.

That reminds me of how I always what I’m looking for well after I’ve stopped looking. Because it’s frantic looking for shit, but when you take a breather you notice things you didn’t before.

(oh and it’s always in the last place you look…..

    worst.. expression.. ever.)

You got it in one Jennie. I appears there’s very little difference between looking for my keys and looking for the ‘meaning of life’ or ‘the purpose of happiness’ or trying to understand love or whatever it was that I was trying to find…

    gah.

Much of it’s due to the subconscious thought processes we have continuously, but just don’t realise it. When you stop actively thinking about a problem, your brain will continue to analyse it subconsciously from different angles. That’s frequently why people have those ‘eureka’ (‘I have found it!’) moments. Best feeling in the world.
